Description
This module is a class 1 Bluetooth device, and is surface mountable in an automatic mounting line or manually for prototyping.
It provides a fully Bluetooth compliant device for data and voice communications. The interfaces to a host (UART and USB) support a full Bluetooth data rate of 723.2kbps. A 13-bit PCM, 8k sample/s, and synchronous bidirectional audio interface are also available.
Digital and analogue I/O and I2C interface are supported by the module.
The module is available in a number of different firmware versions: The Wireless UART firmware implements the Serial Port Profile (SPP) with an easy-to-use command interface. All information sent to the serial interface is transmitted transparently via Bluetooth to the connected remote device.
Other firmware versions are: Headset, HCI, RFCOMM and a version that allows customized stand-alone applications to be implemented as an on-chip solution.
The evaluation kit

The Free2move evaluation kit is designed to make the Free2move Bluetooth modules easy to use from the outset. By default the evaluation board is delivered with the Free2move Wireless UART (WU) firmware, but is also available with other firmware options such as the headset.
The WU implements the Bluetooth serial port profile: data flows transparently through the serial port to the remote device.
For convenience the Free2move Bluetooth module is mounted on a separate exchangeable carrier board (OEM board).
